My Heartfelt Recommendation for a Family Holiday by the Sea – Kamp Slamni
When someone tells me they don't holiday in apartments but exclusively at campsites, I almost always recommend they check out "Kamp Slamni" in Klimno on the island of Krk. Even though I own an apartment myself, I have no problem recommending a quality campsite when I know people will genuinely enjoy their stay there.

Before you even look at the campsite's facilities, perhaps the most important question is the one guests themselves ask most often: what have people who've already stayed at Kamp Slamni experienced?
At the time of checking, Kamp Slamni has a Google Maps rating of 4.4 out of 5, based on 812 reviews. That's a very large number of reviews and gives a much better picture than a handful of individual comments.
Further confirmation comes from PiNCAMP, a platform affiliated with the ADAC. There, Kamp Slamni currently holds a rating of 8.0/10 ("Very good") and also carries the ADAC Tip seal for 2026. PiNCAMP states that the ADAC Tip seal is awarded to campsites with a 4 or 4.5-star ADAC classification.
Of course, no campsite is right for absolutely everyone. Reviews include both praise and some criticism, which is actually another reason I trust a large number of genuine reviews more than promotional descriptions. What comes up again and again in guest experiences is the family atmosphere, tidiness, the seafront location, facilities for children, and the friendliness of the hosts.
That's exactly why I'm happy to recommend Kamp Slamni.

Dieser Standort eignet sich besonders gut für Familien mit kleinen Kindern. Die Kinder können am Ufer und im Meer spielen, während die Eltern leichter im Blick behalten können, was vor sich geht.
Die Bucht Soline ist zudem für ihren natürlichen, heilenden Meerschlamm bekannt. Seit Jahrzehnten ziehen die Strände und die Umgebung der Bucht Gäste an, die neben einem klassischen Sommerurlaub auch die natürlichen Vorzüge dieses Teils der Insel Krk nutzen möchten.

If you're looking for a family campsite on the island of Krk, Kamp Slamni offers another major advantage: organised activities for children.
The campsite's official website lists various creative workshops for kids, including beach games, gardening, drawing, colouring, and modelling. A special part of the programme is a visit from SpongeBob, which delights the youngest guests even more.
Activities like these might seem like a small thing, but parents quickly realise their value when their child makes new friends, has fun, and joins in an activity, while they themselves get a few moments to themselves.
Šurlice Pasta-Making Workshop – A Taste of the Island of Krk
What I especially like is that "Kamp Slamni" ties part of its offer to local tradition.
The family camp runs a workshop on making šurlice, the traditional pasta specialty of the island of Krk. Guided by the campsite owner, children and parents learn how a simple piece of dough becomes the distinctive šurlice.
There's hardly any formality involved – there's flour on everyone's hands, laughter, and fun, but also a chance to get to know part of the island's tradition. At the end, everything is cooked and tasted together.
And if you like šurlice, you'll also find them on the menu at Restaurant "Slamni", for example with prawns or as a side to a traditional goulash.
Pitches, Mobile Homes, or Glamping?
Kamp Slamni isn't only for guests arriving with a traditional tent.
For fans of traditional camping, there are Premium and Comfort pitches, while guests looking for more comfort can opt for mobile homes. For those who'd like to experience camping in a different way, there's also the "Fisherman's Glamping Village".

This is a good choice for guests for whom the pitch's location is one of the most important criteria when choosing a campsite.

Comfort pitches are a practical choice for guests who want a pleasant stay on a smaller, quieter part of the campsite. They're intended for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, and their location gives easy access to the campsite's facilities and the sea.

That's why I can also recommend it to guests of Apartment Carmen who, just a ten-minute walk away, want to spend some of their holiday at a nearby beach bar by the sea while the kids splash around in the pools, or want to try something from the local restaurant's menu.
Why Do I Recommend Kamp Slamni?
If I had to pick out what makes Kamp Slamni so appealing, I'd say it's mainly the combination of location, family atmosphere, and facilities.
