My Heartfelt Recommendation for a Family Holiday by the Sea – Kamp Slamni
When someone tells me they don't holiday in apartments but exclusively at campsites, I almost always recommend they check out "Kamp Slamni" in Klimno on the island of Krk. Even though I own an apartment myself, I have no problem recommending a quality campsite when I know people will genuinely enjoy their stay there.
Kamp Slamni is right by the sea in the quiet Soline Bay and is especially attractive for families looking for a beach holiday surrounded by nature, with plenty for children. Besides classic camping, guests can choose serviced pitches, mobile homes and glamping accommodation, so everyone can pick the kind of holiday that suits them best.

What Do Guests Say About Kamp Slamni?
Before you even look at the campsite's facilities, perhaps the most important question is the one guests themselves ask most often: what have people who've already stayed at Kamp Slamni experienced?
At the time of checking, Kamp Slamni has a Google Maps rating of 4.4 out of 5, based on 812 reviews. That's a very large number of reviews and gives a much better picture than a handful of individual comments.
Further confirmation comes from PiNCAMP, a platform affiliated with the ADAC. There, Kamp Slamni currently holds a rating of 8.0/10 ("Very good") and also carries the ADAC Tip seal for 2026. PiNCAMP states that the ADAC Tip seal is awarded to campsites with a 4 or 4.5-star ADAC classification.
Of course, no campsite is right for absolutely everyone. Reviews include both praise and some criticism, which is actually another reason I trust a large number of genuine reviews more than promotional descriptions. What comes up again and again in guest experiences is the family atmosphere, tidiness, the seafront location, facilities for children, and the friendliness of the hosts.
That's exactly why I'm happy to recommend Kamp Slamni.
Camping by the Sea in Soline Bay
One of the biggest advantages of Camp Slamni is its location. The camp lies right by the sea in Soline Bay, known for its warm and relatively shallow water that gets deeper only gradually.
This location is especially well suited to families with small children. Children can play on the shore and in the sea, while parents can easily keep an eye on what is going on.
Soline Bay is also known for its natural healing sea mud. For decades, the beaches and surroundings of the bay have attracted guests who, besides a classic summer holiday, also want to enjoy the natural benefits of this part of the island of Krk.
Beach, Pools, and Facilities for the Whole Family
Kamp Slamni isn't just appealing because of where it is, but also because of facilities that let guests spend much of the day right there at the campsite.
Right on the sea there's a well-kept beach and a beach bar, and the campsite also has pool facilities. For the 2026 season, a new outdoor pool with an integrated bar is a particular highlight, further enriching the offer for guests who want to combine swimming in the sea and in the pool.
For a more active holiday there are sports facilities, including a boules court, and the campsite also has a fitness area. Guests also have access to a shop and other amenities needed for a pleasant stay.
If you just want to spend a day without long drives or organising excursions, here you can head to the beach in the morning, cool off in the pool afterwards, grab something to eat or drink by the sea, and spend the afternoon enjoying the sports and entertainment facilities.
Family Camp on Krk – Especially for Kids
If you're looking for a family campsite on the island of Krk, Kamp Slamni offers another major advantage: organised activities for children.
The campsite's official website lists various creative workshops for kids, including beach games, gardening, drawing, colouring, and modelling. A special part of the programme is a visit from SpongeBob, which delights the youngest guests even more.
Activities like these might seem like a small thing, but parents quickly realise their value when their child makes new friends, has fun, and joins in an activity, while they themselves get a few moments to themselves.
Šurlice Pasta-Making Workshop – A Taste of the Island of Krk
What I especially like is that "Kamp Slamni" ties part of its offer to local tradition.
The family camp runs a workshop on making šurlice, the traditional pasta specialty of the island of Krk. Guided by the campsite owner, children and parents learn how a simple piece of dough becomes the distinctive šurlice.
There's hardly any formality involved – there's flour on everyone's hands, laughter, and fun, but also a chance to get to know part of the island's tradition. At the end, everything is cooked and tasted together.
And if you like šurlice, you'll also find them on the menu at Restaurant "Slamni", for example with prawns or as a side to a traditional goulash.
Pitches, Mobile Homes, or Glamping?
Kamp Slamni isn't only for guests arriving with a traditional tent.
For fans of traditional camping, there are Premium and Comfort pitches, while guests looking for more comfort can opt for mobile homes. For those who'd like to experience camping in a different way, there's also the "Fisherman's Glamping Village".
PREMIUM Pitches
Premium pitches are meant for guests who want a more attractive location and more space. According to the official brochure, they're located in the campsite's best spots and offer a particularly lovely experience right by the sea.
This is a good choice for guests for whom the pitch's location is one of the most important criteria when choosing a campsite.
COMFORT Pitches
Comfort pitches are a practical choice for guests who want a pleasant stay on a smaller, quieter part of the campsite. They're intended for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, and their location gives easy access to the campsite's facilities and the sea.
When choosing a pitch, it's worth considering the dimensions of your vehicle and equipment, since pitches vary in size and location.
Mobile Homes
For families looking for a mix of camping and comfort, the Premium mobile homes are especially appealing.
They offer significantly more comfort than traditional camping, while still letting guests stay surrounded by nature, the sea, and the campsite atmosphere.
Particularly interesting is the "Premium Mare" mobile home, just a few steps from the sea and designed for guests who want to enjoy being close to the coast.
Fisherman's Glamping Village
If you've never camped before and want to try something new, glamping might be the best compromise.

You Can Visit Kamp Slamni Even If You're Not Staying There
It's also worth knowing that "Kamp Slamni" isn't only interesting for guests staying overnight there.
If you are staying in Soline, Klimno, Čižići, Dobrinj or elsewhere on the island of Krk, you can visit this part of Soline Bay, spend time by the sea, have a drink or visit the restaurant.
That's why I can also recommend it to guests of Apartment Carmen who, just a ten-minute walk away, want to spend some of their holiday at a nearby beach bar by the sea while the kids splash around in the pools, or want to try something from the local restaurant's menu.
Why Do I Recommend Kamp Slamni?
If I had to pick out what makes Kamp Slamni so appealing, I'd say it's mainly the combination of location, family atmosphere, and facilities.
Right next to the campsite are the sea and the shallow, calm Soline Bay, a beach, swimming pools, facilities for children, sports activities, a restaurant, a shop, landscaped pitches, mobile homes and glamping. There is also an entertainment programme, creative workshops and events, so guests can spend part of their holiday without a car.
