When guests ask me what I'd recommend they do at least once during their stay on the island of Krk, if they hold a boat licence, my answer is to spend a day at sea, away from the crowds, and experience the island from a completely different perspective. Our friends Tina and Edis, who run a boat rental, make that possible, together with their daughter Veronika, who happens to be a world champion angler \u2013 so if you need a fishing tip, you'll know who to ask.<\/p><\/p>

Soline Bay, home to \u010ci\u017ei\u0107i, is one of the quietest spots on the island of Krk. It's known for its warm, shallow water, healing mud, and relaxed atmosphere that draws families with children and anyone looking for a calmer holiday. Thanks to the shallow water and sheltered position, this area is an excellent starting point for exploring the coast by boat.<\/p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Once you set out from \u010ci\u017ei\u0107i, a completely different view of the island opens up. Instead of busy roads and car parks, hidden coves, quiet beaches, and spots best reached by sea await you. Many of them stay off the main tourist routes, so you can find peace there for swimming, snorkelling, or simply enjoying the view of the Kvarner coast.<\/p><\/p>

What I especially like is that a trip like this isn't reserved only for experienced sailors. Families with children often say that a day out on the boat is exactly what stays with them as their fondest holiday memory. The kids enjoy swimming at different spots, the adults get to stop wherever they like, and the whole day can pass without any rush or fixed schedule.<\/p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Another advantage is freedom. You decide for yourself how much time to spend at each spot. You can find a quiet cove for swimming, anchor and have lunch on the boat, or visit one of the coastal villages for a coffee or an ice cream. It's exactly this ability to shape the day around your own wishes that makes trips like this special.<\/p><\/p>

Of course, safety should always come first. It's worth keeping an eye on the weather forecast, listening to the advice of whoever you're renting the boat from, and following the navigation rules. Local operators know the area best and can recommend routes that suit the weather conditions and your experience level.<\/p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

If you decide to take a trip like this, my heartfelt recommendation is to get in touch with my friend Edis and his wife Tina from \u010ci\u017ei\u0107i. I've known him for many years and can recommend him above all because I know he takes his business and his guests seriously. Both of them sit on the board of the local fishing club SRD Vela Sten, so you can also get fishing permits through them.<\/p><\/p>

Their fleet includes the boats Barracuda 545<\/strong>, Nautilus<\/strong>, and Cayman<\/strong>, all suitable for family outings and exploring the coast around Soline Bay and the island of Krk. The Barracuda 545 seats up to seven people, while the Nautilus and Cayman seat up to eight, making them a good choice for families or small groups of friends.<\/p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

What matters more to me than the boat models themselves is the fact that you get local advice. The people who live here know where it's worth stopping for a swim, which coves are quietest at what time of day, and how to make the most of your time at sea. You won't find that kind of information on any tourist map.<\/p><\/p>

If you're looking for one more memory to make your holiday on Krk special, consider a day out at sea.
